Mary Kate Hooke Donovan

Mary Kate Hooke Donovan, formerly of Carlisle, died on December 20, 2013 in her home in Delray Beach, FL. She was 51 years of age.
She was born in Mechanicsburg, PA to William H. Hooke, Jr. and Karol Loos Hooke Lanigan on November 8, 1962. She graduated from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD in 1980, attended Mount Vernon College in Washington, D.C., and graduated from The Washington School for Secretaries in 1983. Mary Kate worked for Senator Al D' Amato from Long Island, NY, in the Senate Office Building in Washington D. C., from 1984 to 1987. She married K. C. Donovan of New Paltz, NY in 1987. They had one daughter, Caitlin Maloney, born in 1988. She married Richard Joslin of New York, in 2005. She has lived in Delray Beach, FL since 1993, and has worked as a front desk manager at Cranes Beach house and as an office secretary and receptionist.
Mary Kate is survived by her husband, Richard Joslin of Delray Beach, FL, a daughter, Caitlin Maloney, and her husband Ryan Maloney, granddaughter Alison of Springfield, MA, her parents, William H. Hooke, Jr. (and companion, Brenda Hammer) of Carlisle, PA, and Karol Loos Hooke Lanigan (and husband, John Dennis) of Colorado Springs, CO, a sister Kathleen Hooke Stanton, and her husband Paul of Bethesda, MD, a niece Kimberly Stanton of New York City, a brother, Will Hooke, and his wife Kristin, and their son, Theo of Los Angeles, CA, a brother, David W. Hooke and his wife, Jenny of Carlisle, PA, and an aunt, Kathleen Lanigan, and her husband, Pat and their son Timothy, of Washington, D. C.
Arrangements are being handled by Hoffman - Roth Funeral Home, 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle. There will be a private family service at the funeral home on Dec. 28, 2013. The deceased will be interred at the Ashland Cemetery in Carlisle, PA.
