Mary I. Black

Mary I. Black, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center, Carlisle.
She was born August 22, 1929 in Mt. Holly Springs to the late Ira E. and Elva (Bitner) Cohill and was the widow of William J. Black, Jr.
Mary worked for many years at Reeves Hoffman Crystal Plant in Carlisle. She enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by: three daughters, Marion Mattesky of Carlisle, Deborah (and husband Marlin) Baer of Plainfield and Rebecca (and husband Donald) Mentzer of Carlisle; grandchildren, Michael Mattesky and Tabitha Mentzer, all of Carlisle; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Stewart and her sister, Shirley Hartzel.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
