Marjorie Skelly Myers, age 91, of Carlisle, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
She was born January 6, 1924 in Hickorytown to the late Harry Skelly and Auralia Ryder Finkenbinder and was the widow of the late Clyde P. Myers, who passed away on March 20, 2003.
Marjorie was retired from the Carlisle Borough and W100 Radio station. She was a graduate of Carlisle High School, Class of 1941. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she formerly taught Sunday school and was a former Girl Scout leader. She was involved in the Samaritan Fellowship, Carlisle in the early stages of its beginning and was a member of AARP and the Carlisle Senior Center. Marjorie loved to travel and was proud to say she traveled all 50 states.
She is survived by a son, Paul F. (and wife Donna) Myers of Carlisle; a daughter, Ruth E. (and husband Fred) Nickey of Shippensburg; three grandchildren, Marcie (and husband Kyle) Cramer, Kristen Nickey and fiancé Jon Boles and John (and wife Lauren) Nickey of Shippensburg; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kenzie and Callen Cramer; and several nephews.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Henry Chapel at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle, 770 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Steve Motter officiating. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hickorytown Methodist Church, 1510 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
