Marjorie (Younkins) Mapstone, 97, of Carlisle passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle. She was born on July 28, 1921 in South Fork, PA, the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Jones) Younkins and the widow of Gerald Mapstone.
Marjorie enjoyed puzzles and crafts. In her younger days, she was active in several churches as a Sunday School teacher and Leader of the lady’s groups.
Surviving are two sons, Rev. Jerry R. Mapstone and his wife Virginia of Venice, FL, and Col. Terry L. Mapstone and his wife Bjorg of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, William Younkins; sisters, Ruth Holes and Betty Spiropoulos; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Younkins; and two sisters, Dorothy Walker and Violet Hull.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Pointe Cemetery, 1198 Claremont Road, Carlisle, PA 17015.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Summit Grove Camp, 140 S. Front Street, New Freedom PA 17349.
