Marjorie M. Park

Marjorie M. Park, 80 of Silver Spring, MD, died Saturday July 13, 2013 in Chestertown, MD.
Born September 21, 1932 in Carlisle PA, the daughter of the late Leon W. and Helen Wilson McGinnes.
Marjorie graduated from the Carlisle High School and Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse while her husband attended medical school. When he joined the US Army, she accompanied him to South Korea, Japan, New Jersey, Colorado and Washington DC while raising a son and daughter.
When the children were grown she returned to nursing, working on the eye surgery ward at Doctors Hospital, Washington DC. She then moved on to a position with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Upon retirement she took a position as a receptionist for a travel agency and was able to take advantage of this, in later years, for travel to Europe and the Mediterranean.
Mrs. Park is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert C. Park, a daughter, Susan Park and her husband Robert Hooey, Chestertown, MD, a son, John Park, Silver Spring, MD and a granddog, Wilson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leon W. "Bud" McGinnes.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, July 19, 2013 at Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle PA, with the Rev. Jon Black officiating.
