Marian E. Deitch

Marian E. Deitch, age 100, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She was born November 21, 1915 in Carlisle, PA to the late Benjamin and Nora Ployer Green and was the widow of the late Paul K. Deitch who passed on December 17, 2000.
Marian retired from the Cumberland Valley School District where she worked in the cafeteria. She formerly worked at Troy Laundry in Carlisle and was a full time farmer's wife. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Kingstown. She was a member of the Farm Women's Group, #11 and a former member the Bonny Brook Riding Club where she rode well into her late 70's and early 80's. Marian enjoyed working in her flower beds and in her early years, she liked to sew and crochet. Marian loved her family and truly enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth E. (and wife Patricia) Deitch of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Dolores J. (and husband Ross) Failor of Carlisle; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by two brothers, D. A. Green and Paul Green; and a sister, Mildred Basehore.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4 W. Main Street, New Kingstown, PA with Rev. Eric L. Funk officiating. Burial will be at Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingstown. There will be a viewing at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
