Margaret J. "Peg" Hippensteel

Margaret J. "Peg" Hippensteel, 78, of Carlisle, went to be with her Lord on June 27, 2014 at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home.
She was born August 4, 1935 in Carlisle to the late William I. and Hazel T. (Monismith) Barrett.
Margaret was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, Class of 1953 where she was an energetic cheerleader. She married William G. "Jack" Hippensteel on November 19, 1955. She was a caring CNA at Forest Park Nursing Home for 31 years. Peg was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Kingstown where she taught the youth class of Sunday School and sang in the church choir for many years.
Peg is survived by her husband of 58 years "Jack" Hippensteel; two sons, Reverend Dale L. Hippensteel (and wife Janet) of Milton and David A. Hippensteel (and wife Carol) with whom she recently lived; four grandchildren, Kristen Woodend (and husband Daniel) of El Paso, TX, Jared Hippensteel (and wife Sarah) of Lancaster, Hilary Reath (and husband Andy) of Mechanicsburg and Timothy Hippensteel of Milton and two sisters, Pamela Gitt (and husband Kirk) of Carlisle and Cleista March of Newville.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church in New Kingstown, PA 17072 with Reverend Eric L. Funk officiating. Interment will be in Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2 Lemoyne Drive, Suite 201, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
