M. Ruth Boyer, 92, of Carlisle died Friday, November 29, 2013 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
Born March 22, 1921 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Dora M. Replogle Faulkner and the widow of Ernest L. Boyer.
She was a clerk for the former Henderson Shoe Store, Carlisle. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Carlisle, where she sang in the choir, was a deacon, and was a church board member. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved reading, crocheting, watching sports and loved to travel.
Surviving are one daughter, Joyce Zavislak (and husband, Thomas) of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter-in-law, Evelyn R. Boyer of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Karen L. Boyer, Kimberly J. George, Kelly Anne Mason, and Thomas A. Zavislak II; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one niece, Eileen Young. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Kenneth E. Boyer.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2013 at the First Church of the Brethren, 1340 Forge Road, Carlisle with Rev. Jim and Marla Abe officiating. Burial will be private in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
