Loisann M. Callahan

Loisann M. Callahan, 77, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center with her loving family at her side.
Born October 15, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late John J. and Marie M. Holland O'Neill.
Loisann had formerly worked as the secretary to the Vice President of the American Management Association at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City after graduating from East Rockaway High School. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. Loisann loved to cook for the family gatherings and holiday meals. She was an avid reader she enjoyed the time she spent with her loving husband, children and especially her grand and great-grandchildren. Loisann will be sadly missed by her loving dog, "Brooklyn".
Surviving are her husband of fifty-five years, James E. Callahan, Sr. of Carlisle; three sons: James E. Callahan, Jr. (wife Renae) of Mechanicsburg, Dennis J. Callahan and William J. Callahan, both of Carlisle; three daughters: Maryann C. McFarland (husband Brian) of Duncansville, PA, PatriciaAnn C. Gantz (husband Kevin) of Walnut Bottom, PA, and DebraAnn C. Simmons of Carlisle; one sister, Janie O'Neill of Long Island, NY; twelve grandchildren: Jimmy, Janelle, Jessica, Nicole, Tyler, Joshua, Danielle, Aaron, Zachary, Samantha, Sydney, and Megan; and two great-granddaughters, Azlynn and Kaylene. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jesse Marie Callahan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. Patrick Shrine Church, 152 East Pomfret Street, Carlisle with Rev. William C. Forrey as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
