Leroy E. Peiper

Leroy E. Peiper, 74, of Newville, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born April 18, 1936 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Emery C. and Vernia E. Adams Peiper.
Leroy was a 43 year member of Iron Workers Local Union 404, Harrisburg. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1299, Carlisle and a member of VFW Post 6168, Shippensburg. Leroy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Patricia Peiper of Newville, one son, Leroy Peiper II (and wife, Cheryl) of Carlisle, one daughter, Necole Koontz (and husband, Mark) of Newville, five grandchildren: Olivia, Haileigh, Avery Koontz of Newville, Alexandria Frey of San Francisco and Bradford Frey of Newville, and two great-grandchildren: Samantha Frey and Baylee Koontz, both of Newville. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Peiper.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday at the funeral home.
