Lee H. Pugh, 80, of Newville, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Green Ridge Village, Newville.
He was born in Carlisle on January 10, 1935 to the late Doyle and Bertha Hoover Pugh.
Lee was a professional electrical engineering professor at Penn State University at the Capital Campus, Harrisburg, retiring in 1995 with over 30 years of teaching. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville, Louisville, KY, Class of 1964. Lee enjoyed traveling abroad through Europe, Korea and any place of interest to him. Reading was especially important to him, but he enjoyed history and historical events the most. He also enjoyed playing cards, listening to music and watching old movies. While traveling abroad to Paris, he met three lifelong friends, who were Hyo-Joo Han, Ji-Sook Cho and Ho-Young Kwon. Lee's main love of life was flying. He was a certified pilot, owned his own plane and flew out of the Capital City Airport.
Lee is survived by a nephew, Jeffrey A. Auer and his spouse, Robin Fero of Harrisburg; his caregiver and her family, Betty J. Foster (and her husband Terry) and their children, Kaitlyn Foster and Shania Reed. He was preceded by a sister, Audrey Auer and a niece, Linda Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, 219 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle with Pastor John L. Larson officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services. Interment will be at the Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA.
