Lauretta J. Russell

Lauretta J. Russell, age 91, of Carlisle, passed away, Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.
She was born January 9, 1927 in Newville to the late Murray and Mary (Brownawell) Nickle and was the widow of Ernest E. Russell who passed September 17, 1980.
Lauretta was formerly employed by the Carlisle Ribbon Mill, G.S. Electric and C.H. Masland & Sons. She was a former member of Big Spring United Methodist Church, where she attended Sunday school and was a Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church, Carlisle. The time she spent with her loving family meant the most to her.
She is survived by: three sons, Michael M. Russell of Carlisle, Barry Lynn (wife Helen) Russell of Newville and Steven W. Russell of Carlisle; two daughters, Lisa E. (husband John) Jumper of Mt. Holly Springs and Becky L. Lawrence of Newville; a brother, Edd (wife Shirley) Nickle of Carlisle; a sister, Marlene Laughman (companion, Robert Armold) of Newville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Lauretta was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Howard, Buddy and Robert Nickle and an infant sister, Edna Nickle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Judy L. Strayer officiating. Burial will follow at Letort Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
