Larry E. Bangert

Larry E. Bangert, age 80, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at his residence.
He was born March 6, 1937 in Harrisburg to the late Clem and Winifred M. (Houdeshel) Bangert.
Larry enjoyed teaching others his life’s passion, roller skating. He has won many roller dance competitions with his partner Cecilia. He loved singing, hunting and sports. Larry was formerly employed by Hershey’s Ice Cream, PennDOT, as a security guard at the Farm Show and as a custodian at the rest stops on Route 81.
He is survived by: his five children: Margaret Bangert, Michaelina Bangert-Johnson, Debora Fetter, Nancy Hughes and Larry Arnold Bangert; four brothers, Bruce Bangert, David Barlup, Earl Barlup, Jr. and Terry Barlup; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a son, Larry E. Bangert, Jr. and a sister, Bonnie Sweitzer.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at New Life Community Church, 64 E. North Street, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Ryan Brown officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013 to help defray the funeral expenses.
