June E. Shirley

June E. Shirley, age 79, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Manor Care Health Services, Chambersburg.
She was born on May 30, 1936 in Churchtown, PA to the late Halbert and Helen Myers Gordon and was the widow of the late Robert L. Shirley who passed on October 31, 1979.
June retired as a manager of Commercial Cleaners Contracts at the Carlisle Barracks after 30 years of service. She enjoyed music from the 50's and 60's, especially Elvis and she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Dianne Shirley of Chambersburg; a son, Alan (and wife Terri) Shirley of Shippensburg; a granddaughter, Melissa Shirley and her companion, Chris Whetzel of Shippensburg; a grandson, Jim Shirley of Carlisle; three brothers, Bill (and wife Gail) Gordon of Dillsburg, Wilbur (and wife Nancy) Gordon of Chambersburg and Richard (and wife Angie) Gordon of IL; two sisters, Gloria (and husband Jesse) Green of NE and Betty (and husband Ed) Dorsey of Mt. Holly Springs; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Shirley, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Chaplain Alan Echard officiating. Burial will be at Westminster Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
