Joyce Rebecca Reohr

Joyce R. Reohr, 98, of Carlisle passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Thornwald Home, Carlisle. She was born on August 6, 1920 in Harrisburg, PA, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Louise (Kiner) Dunkleberger.

Joyce loved to have fun. She enjoyed working in her garden, flowers, going out to eat, shopping, attending musicals, plays, and comedies and long car rides. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed buying gifts for others.

Surviving are her son, Wesley R. Reohr and his wife Laura of Dillsburg; daughter, Barbara Ann Gruber and her husband Glenn of Dauphin; grandsons, Chip Gruber, and Wesley Douglas Reohr and his wife Sara; great-grandchildren Lucas Wesley and Olivia James Reohr and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: June Aldinger and brothers, William and Jere Dunkleberger.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 23 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013 with Chaplain Mark Ruzicka officiating.

The family gives a special “thank you” to all the staff at the Thornwald Home who have cared for and loved Joyce for many years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thornwald Home, 442 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
