Joyce Lorraine Bruner

Joyce Lorraine (Sharp) Bruner, age 83, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born March 18, 1933 in Shamokin to the late George Thomas Sharp, Sr. and Edith (Erdman) Sharp.
Joyce received her GED from Shamokin High School. She worked several years for the U.S. Government, at both New Cumberland and Letterkenny Depots. She loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce was an avid gardener producing beautiful flowers for her family and friends to enjoy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Harry M. Bruner of Carlisle; two daughters, Karen Bruner and her companion Jim Cappetta, Jr. of Abbottstown and Lori (and husband Harry) Eshenour of Duncannon; sisters, Elsie (and husband John) Wilt and Faye (and husband Jim) Moore; grandchildren, Brian Hurst, Stephen Eshenour, Brandon Eshenour, Christine Slother, Michelle Slother and Amy Thompson; and eleven great-grandchildren. Joyce was also "Mommy" to her beloved cat, Promise. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, George T. Sharp, Jr.; a sister, Donna Kramer; and a great-grandson, Hunter Temes.
At Joyce's request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
