John P. Novak

John P. Novak, age 50, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the UPMC Pinnacle Hospital Carlisle.
John was born in Cleveland OH on May 7, 1968 to the late Gerald P. Novak and Shirley A. Schueller Novak of Scottsburg, IN.
John was a former truck driver for Keen Transportation Company of Carlisle. He was a former volunteer fireman with Company #45 of Carlisle and #46 of West Pennsboro Township, where he was a former assistant Chief. John was an avid Cleveland Browns football fan and he enjoyed fishing. He mainly enjoyed being part of the community through the fire companies he served with all the programs they offered to the young firefighters.
He is survived by his son, Dillon J. Novak of Carlisle; his mother, Shirley A. Novak of Scottsburgh, IN; one sister, Judy Diehl (husband Dennis) of Scottsburgh, IN; one niece, Ashley Novak, and several cousins.
A Christian Prayer Service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:30 am at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA with Father Martin O. Moran, III officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a viewing Friday evening at the funeral home September 14, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
