John N. Bender

John "JB" Norman Bender, 57, of Carlisle passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born Jan. 12, 1954, in Harrisburg, he was a son of Eve Fuller Bender and the late Charles Norman Bender.

He was formerly employed by R and R Drywall, Harrisburg. John never sat still; he loved being outdoors fishing and hunting. He always helped others before himself.

Surviving in addition to his mother are three daughters, Amber Bender of Indiana, Kristi Bender of Milton and Kelly Bender of Sunbury; two sisters, Sandra Bisking (and husband, Michael) of Dover and Debra Sturtz of Newville; two grandchildren, Tatyanna and Damir. Uncle Buddy is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ellen Bender.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Carlisle. A viewing will be held from noon until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
