Joanne W. (Weidaw) Minnich, 84, of Carlisle died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
Born June 3, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harvey P. and Lucille Cole Weidaw, and the widow of Stanley C. Minnich.
She was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, class of 1944. Formerly she was a buyer for F.W. Woolworth and a former administrative assistant for the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading and doing puzzles. Also, Joanne and her former husband actively ran a dairy farm for 30 years.
Surviving are two sons, Mark A. Minnich (and wife, Beth) of Shippensburg and Michael K. Minnich (and wife, Jody) of Carlisle; one daughter, Cathy M. Smock (and husband, Leslie) of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Richard Smock, Amy Brewer, William Minnich, Brandon Minnich, Shawn Minnich, Ryan Minnich and Monica Minnich; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gary L. Minnich; and one sister, Saundra L. Henry.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carlisle First Church of God, 705 Glendale St., with the Rev. D. Alan Mathna officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, and from noon until the time of the service at the church on Tuesday.
