Jeanne D. Peters, 62, of Shermans Dale died October 19, 2010 at her home.
Born October 24, 1947 in Chippewa Falls, WI, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Faye Cayo Lokrantz.
Jeanne was a graduate of Ladysmith High School, WI, Class of 1964.She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan!
She was a teacher who taught in public schools. Jeanne previously worked part-time at the former Hills Department Store, Carlisle, Giant Food Store, Carlisle and also the Carlisle Livestock Market. She was passionate about painting, having painted about 30-40 land and seascapes. She was a volunteer at Perry Village for bingo nights. Jeanne was a member of Shermans Dale Lioness Club. She also knitted hats to donate for premature infants at various hospitals. She taught Bible School at Youngs United Methodist Church as well as being a member of the ladies Alpha Class.
Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Ralph Peters of Shermans Dale, son, Parrish Anacker of Carlisle, daughter, Lori Smathers of Florida, son Brian Peters (and wife Joann) of Newport and daughter, Pam Overweig (and husband, Dwight) of Sturgis, SD. Also 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Lonnie Lokrantz of Elk Mound, WI and Don Lokrantz of Beloit, WI. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Lokrantz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Youngs United Methodist Church, Youngs Church Road, Shermans Dale with Rev. Jefferson N. Brewster officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, 2010 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle and also Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
