Jeanette Uhler Line

October 26, 1922 — November 8, 2018

Jeanette Uhler Line, 96, of Carlisle passed away peacefully while she was surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Church of God Home.

Born October 26, 1922 in Carlisle to the late W. Earl and Mae (Pensyl) Uhler.

She graduated from Carlisle High School 1940 and West Chester University 1944 where she was president of Valkerie Club, Secretary of the Senior Class, and President of the Women's Recreation Association. She remained active with West Chester’s class reunions for 63 years. Jeanette did her graduate studies at Shippensburg University.

She taught Physical Education in Lancaster and 20 years at Big Spring High School, Newville.

Later in life she resided at the Church of God Retirement Center where she made many wonderful new friends to add to her already large group of friends.

Surviving family members are: one daughter, Jennifer L. Raynor (husband Michael) of Cary, NC; two sons, G. Jeffery Line of Carlisle and David W. Line of Lewisberry. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren who all adored her.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A special heartfelt thanks to the Hospice of Central PA staff and Nancy Woltz who deserve so much praise for their support, professionalism, and kindness.

There will be a private graveside service at Mount Holly Springs Cemetery where she will be interred.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA 1320 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17110.
