Jean Whelan

Jean L. Whelan, 66, of Carlisle, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Harrisburg.

Born June 27, 1945 in Bronx, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Catherine Ahearn Ries.

She was a volunteer for Transport for Christian Ministry for truck drivers. She loved horses and cats.

Surviving is her husband of 32 years, Jeff Whelan of Carlisle.

Memorial services will be held at the Great Hope Baptist Church, Carlisle to be announced at a later time.

Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
