Jean E. Rockwell

Jean E. Rockwell, 95, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Center, Carlisle.
Born June 2, 1918 in Mechanicsburg, she was a daughter of the late Olin D. and Grace E. Sollenberger Rider and the widow of Robert W. Rockwell, Sr.
She graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1936 and then attended Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing for six months, after which she did Private Duty Practical Nursing until 1940. She then married her late husband, Robert W. Rockwell, Sr. who passed away October 14, 1989. Jean was a member of Eastern Star, Shippensburg.
Surviving are two sons, Robert W. Rockwell, Jr. (and wife, Pat) of Carlisle and Donald L. Rockwell (and wife, Linda) of Three Springs; three grandchildren, Robert W. Rockwell III, Tory L. Rockwell (and wife, Kelly), and Taryn E. Rockwell (and husband, Christopher Van Vooren); three great-grandchildren, Kendrick Rockwell, Logan Rockwell, and Patrick Van Vooren; and two nephews, Marlin Weaver and Robert Weaver. She was preceded in death by one sister, G. Winifred Weaver.
Graveside services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
