Janet L. Handshaw

Janet L. Handshaw, 86, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home.
She was born November 30, 1933 in Altoona to the late William R. and Helen B. (Clemens) Orr and was the widow of Wilt D. Handshaw.
Janet loved playing BINGO and watching western movies. More than anything she looked forward to picnics and family gatherings so she could spend time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her siblings.
Janet is survived by three children, Deborah L. (husband Robert) Bruce of Mt. Holly Springs, Robert E. (wife Joan) Bryant of York Springs, and Kim D. Boose of Carlisle; three siblings, David (wife Sharon) Orr of Camp Hill, Linda Wood of Carlisle, and Deanna Nailor of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Megan Bruce, Matthew Bruce, Benjamin Bryant, Anthony Bryant, Kelly Gallo, Nathan Boose, and Erin Fitzpatrick; and seven great-grandchildren, Corbin Bryant, Silas Bryant, Fiona Bryant, Tristen Pettaway, Damian Gallo, Peyton Gallo, Noah Boose, and JJ Peffer. In addition to her husband and her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her brother, William Eugene Orr.
A private memorial service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial mass for friends and family will be announced at a later date.
