Janet L. Avallone

Janet L. Avallone, 71, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the UPMC-West Shore Hospital. She was born February 12, 1948 in Camden, New Jersey, the daughter of the late William Milligan Sr. and Evelyn Braddock Milligan. On September 14, 1968, she married Joseph Avallone; he preceded her in death on April 5, 2007.
For over 15 years, Janet was the Director of Children’s Ministry at the Community Christian Fellowship in Carlisle. She was very active and devoted to her family.
Janet is survived by four children: Christy Kreiger and her husband Michael, and their children, Emily, Hannah, Sarah, Ryan and Matthew all of Dillsburg, Joseph Avallone and his companion Jamie Eisele of Blackwood, NJ, Caryn Shevlin and her children, Justin, Bentley and Aubrianna all of Carlisle, and Jeffrey Avallone of Carlisle, two sisters: Linda Chur and her husband Chuck of Minnesota and her twin Joyce Milligan of New Jersey, her sister-in-law: Sharon Milligan of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William T. Milligan Jr.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Community Christian Fellowship, 360 York Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
