Jane D. Peters

January 4, 1925 — November 3, 2022

Eljane Dunnuck Adams Peters or "Janie" as she was affectionately known by many, passed away peacefully at the age of 97, on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at her residence at Thornwald Home, Carlisle, PA. Her beloved first grandchild was at her side.

Born January 4, 1925 in South Bend, IN to Roscoe and Lura Dunnuck. She was the middle daughter of three girls. She was small but mighty in spirit and lived with great determination. Her strong faith in Jesus was the compass that guided her life for many decades. She was known to break out in a Hallelujah chorus at family gatherings, although she would have been the first to say singing wasn't one of her many gifts.

She was a prayer warrior for her family. She deeply adored them and her greatest joy was witnessing answered prayers.

We are so thankful for every day we spent with our flower gardening, ballet dancing, airplane flying, sweater knitting, interior designing, symphony loving, theater going, world traveling matriarch.

She is survived by her younger sister, Jacqueline Kinney of Stuart FL; her children, R.Mark Adams (wife Wendy) of East Lempster, NH; Timothy L. Adams (wife Becky) of Cavite Phillipines; Peter T. Adams of Sharpsburg, MD; Rebecca J Kenderes (husband Richard) of Cleveland OH; Martha E. Woodfin (husband Regan) of Palmyra, PA. She was greatly blessed with 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and the 4 adult step-children of her 2nd husband S. Richard Peters.

She is preceded in death by sister Julanne Keller; her first husband, John P. Adams; second husband, S. Richard Peters; eldest son, John S.Adams; grandson, Matthew J. Adams; and great grandson Pierre Courage Morris.

A private family memorial service celebrating Jane's life will be held in the coming months
