James W. Drake

James W. Drake, 82, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Hospital. He was the husband of 50 years to Beverly (Porter) Drake.

Born in Waverly, New York, he was the son of the late James and Doris VanHorn Drake.

James loved riding on his lawnmower and taking care of his yard as well as gardening. He also loved tools and gadgets. He enjoyed NASCAR races, following Syracuse basketball and watching football and QVC Network.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his daughter: Amy Knox (Michael), of Dillsburg; two grandchildren: Stella and Oliver; his brother: Bill Drake (Donna), of Barton, New York as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter: Karen and his brother: John.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
