Jacob A. Behrens, 86, of Carlisle died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his home.
Born March 3, 1928 in Carlisle, a son of the late Jacob, Sr. and Margarite Blauser Behrens.
Jacob worked for Hunt Crystal and retired from Motorola after they purchased the company. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Jacob was a talented bowler who bowled in several area leagues. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1299, Carlisle.
Surviving are one daughter, Lynda Brymesser (Gary) of Harrisburg; two grandsons, Jason Brymesser (Jennifer) of Harrisburg and Justin Brymesser (April) of Carlisle; four great-grandchildren: Madalyn, Abigayle, Liam and Logen; one step-great-grandson, Kristofer; one nephew, James R. Behrens (Katherine) of Hughesville; one niece, Saundra McClintock (Ron) of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by one brother, James B. Behrens and one sister, Dorothy Fantino.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. James R. Behrens officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
