Helena S. Mcalister

Helena S. McAlister, age 83, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
She was born May 7, 1935 in New Bloomfield, PA to the late Richard L. and Margaret (Shearer) Schuchman and was the widow of Lee R. McAlister who passed June 21, 1995.
Helena was a 1953 graduate of Perry Joint High School, New Bloomfield, PA and graduated from the Carlisle Commercial College. She was a 40-year member of the Carlisle Church of Christ.
She is survived by: a daughter, Signa A. (husband Gary W.) Cook of Bridgewater, NJ; three granddaughters, Summer Boggess, Kirah Hall and Hannah Cook; daughter-in-law, Karen J. McAlister. In addition to her parents and husband, Helena was preceded in death by a son, Jefrey L. McAlister and a sister, Delores Lowe.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Carlisle Church of Christ, 971 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, PA with Mr. Edward E. Dyche, Mr. Gary Cook and Mr. Chris Krotz co- officiating. Burial will follow at Young’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shermans Dale, PA. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
