Helen M. Mccoy

Helen M. McCoy, 94, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2019. Born on February 24, 1925 in Carlisle, she was the daughter of Stewart K. and Marie (Clouse) Mountz.

A lifelong resident of Carlisle, Helen graduated from Carlisle High School in 1943. She worked at Joe the Motorist’s Friend where she first met her husband in 1945. She went on to work at both CH Masland and Sons and PR Hoffman before retiring in 1987. Helen was a long-time member of McClure’s Gap Church of God and most recently found comfort and fellowship at New Hope Church of God.

She will be sorely missed by her daughter, Bonnie M. (Gary) Snyder, her son, Merle A. McCoy Jr., her four granddaughters, Toni (Tim) Goril, Lori McCoy, Stacy Snyder and Natalie Snyder. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Lamma, two great-grandsons, several sisters-in-law, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many close friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle A. McCoy Sr., who passed away in 2014 as well as four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Dick Warner officiating. Private burial will be held at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
