Helen Ann "Nan" Biebel

Helen Ann “Nan” Biebel, 90 of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle, PA.
She was born February 20, 1928 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Anthony and Caroline (Schwartz) Schindler and was the widow of Paul Joseph Biebel.
Nan graduated from LeClerc College, Belleville, IL in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She spent one year working as a dietician before deciding to start her family of six children. Nan was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle, PA, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening, singing and traveling. Nan and her husband had visited all 50 states and many foreign countries.
She is survived by her six children, Thomas N. (wife Maria) Biebel of Ventnor City, NJ, Ann M. Biebel of NYC, NY, Joseph A. (wife Kathleen) Biebel of Marietta, GA, David P. (wife Amy) Biebel of Sayreville, NJ, Donald A. (wife Teri) Biebel of Shepherdstown, WV, and Christopher L. Biebel of Carlisle, PA; ten grandchildren, Elaine (husband Chris) Burley, Nicholas (wife Amanda) Biebel, Matthew Biebel, Laura (husband Daniel) Moore, Stephen Biebel, Mark Biebel, Jennifer Biebel, Amanda Biebel, Amelia Biebel, and Gordon Biebel; and three great-grandsons, Nicholas, Jonathan, and Grayson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Shrine Church, 152 East Pomfret Street Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Joshua Cavender as celebrant. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
