Harold “Sugar Bearâ€Â E. Blouvet, 78, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at his home.

Born April 30, 1933, in Wellsville, N.Y., he was a son of the late Howard and Lina Scott Blouvet.

He was a crane operator, construction worker and truck driver. Harold was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, where he served in an anti-aircraft division, defending the White House from air attacks.

Surviving are his wife of 59 1/2 years, Edith M. Blouvet of Carlisle; two daughters, Linda Williams (and husband, Steve) of Lorton, Va., and Barbara McDonald (and husband, Jim) of Omaha, Neb.; one son, Ralph Blouvet of Friendship, N.Y.; two brothers, Richard Blouvet (and wife, Wilma) of Wellsville, N.Y., and James Blouvet (and wife, Lillian) of Friendship, N.Y.; one sister, Joyce Watson of Allentown, N.Y.; six grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother, Monroe Blouvet and one sister, Mary Schram.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday April 6 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Dale Barrick officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 5 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Hope Baptist Church, 110 Fern Ave., Carlisle, PA 17013.
