George F. Markel

George F. Markel, age 84, of Carlisle and formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
He was born July 6, 1933 in Camp Hill, PA to the late William H. and Bonahlene Beatrice (Smith) Markel.
George had been an HVAC repairman for 27 years and then drove for Delta Dental Labs for 13 years. He honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army.
He is survived by: his wife, Carol S. R. Young Markel; three sons, Daniel G. Markel of Colonial Park, William L. (wife Chris) Markel of Colonial Park and Richard D. (wife Judy) Markel of OR; and three sisters, Betty Siders of Colonial Park, Kathy Decker of Summerdale and Daisy Page of Millerstown; and four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Markel; three brothers, Herbert, Marlin and indant Samuel Markel; and a sister, Florence Markel.
In accordance with George’s wishes, there will not be any services or visitation.
