Evelyn R. Kelley

Evelyn R. Kelley, age 91, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center.
She was born October 8, 1925 to the late Charles B. and Bertha C. (Stutzman) Minich and was the widow of Leroy R. Kelley who passed June 27, 1995.
Evelyn was employed by the former C.H. Masland & Sons and retired from Lear as a sewing machine operator. She lived on Waggoners Gap Road for over 65 years. Evelyn volunteered at the North Middleton Fire Company where she was a member of the Senior Citizens Group. She also volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and helped in their soup kitchen. Evelyn enjoyed bowling in a senior’s league at the Midway Bowling Center.
She is survived by: two sons, Steven L. (wife Edie) Kelley and Michael B. (wife Linda) Kelley, both of Carlisle; two daughters, Carol A. (husband Jay) Hurley of Newville and Kristine E. Gelbaugh of Carlisle; one sister, Bertha Marie (husband Harold) Miller of Carlisle; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Nelson L. Minich.; sister, Gladys Rhinehart; and son-in-law, Carl R. Gelbaugh, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Waggoners United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Richard E. Denison, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
