Estella Metcalf

Estella (Kay) R. Metcalf, 90, of Carlisle, passed quietly, at home, into the arms of God on Monday, January 2, 2012.
Born August 27, 1921 in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Ethel N. McElroy Rosen and the widow of Lauren (Larry) D. Metcalf.
Kay was the longtime owner of the popular Cork ‘N Kettle Restaurant, a retired computer program specialist at the Navy Depot, a member of NARFE and the Second Presbyterian Church in Carlisle. She was a frequent election volunteer, a caring mother, proud grandmother and a recent great-grandmother.
Surviving are two sons, Lauren “Larry”, wife Wendy and Glenn, wife Judy; one daughter Carol Metcalf Turner, husband William; six grandchildren, Melanie, Lauren, Patrick and Nathan Metcalf and William and Eric Turner; one great-grandson, Lee Metcalf; and sister Carolyn Saylor of Pottstown, PA. Kay was predeceased by a sister Hazel Dick and two brothers, Thomas and Kenneth Rosen.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle with Rev. Jennifer J. McKenna officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013.
