Elfriede Wickard

Elfriede Wickard, age 83, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia on October 1, 1932 to the late Anna Weiss.
Elfriede retired as a cashier at the PX at the Army War College where she had worked for over 30 years. She liked cooking, arts and crafts and gardening. She loved the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gerald J. Wickard of Carlisle; two sons, Thomas (and wife Christina) Wickard of Carlisle and Jimmy (and wife Naomi) Wickard of Camarillo, CA; four grandchildren, Brandon J. Wickard, Rylie Salisbury Wickard, Lori Chilson and David Chastain; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hans Weiss.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Private interment will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will not be a visitation prior to the service.
