Edwin B. Laird

Edwin B. "Eddie" Laird, 77, of Green Ridge Village, Newville, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born August 26, 1935 in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Vance C. and L. Eloise Weant Laird.
Edwin was formerly of Boiling Springs, where he was a familiar face walking through the streets and talking to his neighbors.
Surviving are his nephew, John K. Bixler III (and wife, Debra) of Carlisle and two cousins, Eleanor Kennel (and husband, Arthur) of Fairfield and Dr. John Baker (and wife, Lynne) of Cornwall, NY. He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothea E. Bixler, brother-in-law, John K. Bixler, Jr., and one nephew, William L. Bixler.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Churchtown. A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
