Edward C. Mcintyre

Edward C. McIntyre, age 96 of Carlisle, formerly of Mt Laurel, NJ, passed away June 15, 2020 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 10, 1923 in Camden, NJ, son of the late Edward and Gladys (Beachboard) McIntyre.
Edward was a retired Chief Petty Officer for the US Navy and was a loss control specialist for the Insurance Company of North America. While Edward was stationed at the Philadelphia Naval Yard, he followed in his father’s steps and worked as a stagehand for the IATSE Local 8 Stagehands Union. Three generations of the McIntyre Family have worked for, been involved with or have held leadership roles in the union. Edward was a member of St John Neuman Catholic Church in Mt. Laurel, NJ and the Fleet Reserve Association. Edward loved going to the racetracks and had a passion for handicapping horses at Garden State Racetrack.
Surviving is a son, Edward “Rocky” McIntyre, Philadelphia; daughter, Doreen F. (Pat) Corbosiero, Carlisle; step-son, Renato (Bonnie Forry) Dellaporta, Harrisburg and grandchildren, Caitlin Corbosiero, Patrick Corbosiero, Lisa Dellaporta, Christopher Dellaporta and Michael Dellaporta. He is also survived by his 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, John “Jack” McIntyre, Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor V. (LaRiviere) McIntyre and two sisters, Joan Murphy and Gloria Corbo-Wargo.
At the request of the family, there will be no viewing or service. Edward will be laid to rest beside his wife at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or an Alzheimer’s Association of your choice.
