E. Jane Hoffman, 82, formerly of Carlisle, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Naples, FL.
Born October 22, 1929 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Sue Anna Mae Behrens Franciscus and the widow of Robert O. Hoffman.
She was a graduate of Palm Beach High School, West Palm Beach, FL. She retired from United Telephone/Sprint/Embarq after many years of service. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Carlisle; Telephone Pioneer Club of Sprint/Embarq and AARP Carlisle Chapter 3378. She volunteered at the Carlisle Area Healthcare Auxiliary and a member of Old Bellaire Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Lodge #375. Jane was an avid golfer.
Surviving are one step-daughter, Lynn Maxine of Needles, CA; one brother, Rippey Franciscus of Lancaster; one sister, Mary Somers of West Palm Beach, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers: Hoke, James, Malvern, Kenneth, Eugene, Ross, Frederick and Rodger Franciscus and sisters: Marguerite and Olive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at First United Church of Christ, 30 North Pitt Street, Carlisle with Rev. Lynn R. Schultz officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday at Westminster Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday at the church.
