Dorothy J. Earley

Dorothy J. Earley, 85, of Mechanicsburg, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born November 7, 1927 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Stewart and Marie Clouse Mountz and the widow of Gilbert E. Earley, Sr.
She was a good Christian, longtime Sunday School teacher who transferred her church membership between Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. Dorothy really enjoyed arts and crafts and helping with church fundraisers such as making peanut butter and coconut eggs. She was a giving person who always put others before herself.
Surviving are three sons: Gilbert E. Earley, Jr. (and wife, Teresa) of Carlisle, Rodger L. Earley of Carlisle, and Keith D. Earley (and wife, Marla) of Lewisberry; two daughters, Connie J. Evert (and husband, Gordon) of Fayetteville, GA and Vickie R. Dunn (and husband, Thomas) of Shippensburg; two sisters, Helen McCoy (and husband, Merle) of Carlisle and Mary Lamma of Carlisle; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church, New Kingstown with Rev. Eric L. Funk officiating.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
