Doris Zeigler

Doris Zeigler, 81, of York, died peacefully Monday, January 31, 2011 in The Village at Sprenkle Drive, York.
Born August 4, 1929 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Edgar William Fry and Omie Mary Margaret Showvaker Fry Wiser and the widow of Jay Wheeler Zeigler.
She retired from McCrory’s Distribution Center, York in 1993. Doris was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, York.
Surviving are one son, Jay Zeigler (and wife, Kathi) of New Cumberland, one brother, Dr. Robert Fry of Dillsburg and one sister, Betty Maxwell (and husband, Wilmer) of Carlisle, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Jean Burkett and Ida Mary Barrick Guyer, two brothers, James Everett Fry and Edgar Cloyd Fry and one daughter, Christine Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Jonathan Bausman officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
