Doris G. Lively

Doris G. Lively, age 93, of Brookdale Grandon Farms, Mechanicsburg, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA.
She was born September 10, 1924 in Carnesville, GA to the late Herndon and Pearl Garland (Morgan) Elrod and was the widow of Lewell M. “Jack” Lively, Jr.
Doris was a retired licensed real estate agent in Orange County, CA where she was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club. She was a 1942 graduate of Eastanolle High School where she was a varsity letterman in basketball, tennis and softball and a 1945 graduate of Toccoa Falls Institute, GA with a BA in Business Administration. She was then employed at Camp Toccoa as a purchasing agent with the Supply Department. She then moved to work in Atlanta at the Lawson General Hospital and finally to the VA Hospital, Long Beach, CA as the Chief Medical Purchasing Agent. In her later years, Doris enjoyed basketball, 0tennis and golf.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacquie Lively-LaFata (and husband Peter) of Carlisle, PA. In Addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by a son, Lewell M. “Chip” Lively, III.
To fulfill Doris’ wishes, there will not be any services and private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 115, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
