Doris Casey

Doris Casey, 86, was born on March 17, 1929 in Carlisle, PA and passed away on June 1, 2015 in Lakeland, FL. She was the daughter of the late Harrison and Amy Foreman Kelly.
She graduated from Carlisle High School, class of 1946. She met her future husband, Bill, in Carlisle while he was serving in the Army at Carlisle Barracks. They were married in 1952. Bill and Doris resided in Rochester, NY and Wilmington, DE prior to retiring in Lakeland, FL in 1991. Doris worked as a secretary before becoming a dedicated mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, the Red Hat Club and the Sun n' Fun Fly-ins, all of Lakeland, FL. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Oshkosh in Wisconsin when they visited there.
Doris is survived by her husband, Harry "Bill" Casey of Lakeland, FL; son, Michael Casey of Chattanooga, TN; and a brother, Robert (and wife Miriam) Kelly of Carlisle. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Josephine Blevins, Virginia Swartz and Catherine Arnold; and one brother, James Hyman.
A visitation was held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Lakeland, FL. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Newville Road, Carlisle with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. There will not be a viewing.
