Donald S. Lynch

Donald S. “Pap” Lynch, age 71, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 20, 1946 in Carlisle to the late Earl S. and Phyllis J. (Smith) Lynch and was the husband of Barbara (Taylor) Lynch, to whom he was married for 49 years.
Donald retired after 43 years of service as a machinist with the Carlisle Machine Shop. He was a man who could do anything to which he put his analytical mind. A former member of Big Spring Fish & Game, he enjoyed hunting both deer and turkey, using rifle and bow and arrow, along with family and friends. He was also an avid woodworker, crafting furniture for gifting, and using his skills as the family and neighborhood handyman. Pap was a homebody, often found with Barbara enjoying their pool on one of their many staycations, or on his motorcycle, heading to the next ice cream parlor. He loved spending time with family, as well as with God, as he and his wife attended The Meeting House-Carlisle Campus.
In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his son, Clayton S. wife Kimberly) Lynch; his daughter, Christy N. (husband Pudge) Yost; four grandchildren, Ryane Lynch, Nikolas Lynch, Wyatt Yost and Taylor Yost; two step-grandchildren, Jordan Sloop and Jacob Sloop; as well as one brother and two sisters. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a brother.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at New Hope Church of God, 1250 Waggoners Gap Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013 with Pastor Dick Warner officiating. Burial will be private and at the discretion of the family. There will be a visitation from 6:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church.
