Donald L. Ramsey

Donald Lee Ramsey, 92, of Camp Hill and formerly of York Springs, died on Monday, February 3, 2020 in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle, PA.
He was born in Salona, PA (Clinton Co.) on January 15, 1928 to the late Charles DeLoss Ramsey, and Florence Bixell Ramsey
Donald retired as Deputy Director of Maintenance from the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot and also from the New Cumberland Army Depot as a master electrician. He honorably served his country in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict and had attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Don was a member and past Worshipful Master of the Newport-Masonic Lodge # 381 F&AM, former President of the York Springs Lions Club and member of the York Springs Historical Society. He was a season ticket holder since 1958 for the Hershey Bears hockey team and was recognized and honored by the Bears organization as their oldest season ticket holder in a pre- game ceremony two years ago. Don was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He and his wife Clarissa would enjoy their annual summer fishing trip to White Lake, Ontario.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 27 yrs. Clarissa M. Forster Ramsey of Camp Hill, a daughter, Debra Jo Ramsey of Harrisburg, and a stepson and his wife, Keith A. and Anne Marie Platt of Camp Hill. Don was preceded by a brother and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 12:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with honors being provided by the US Navy Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Don’s name may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, Florida 33607.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 West Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
