Dennis C. Cassel

May 13, 1952 — May 16, 2023

An amazing dad, Dennis Craig Cassel, 71, passed away peacefully on May 16 after a brief battle with cancer. He had his family by his side and his love, Christine (Wonders) Cassel, who preceded him in death in 2018, waiting for him to continue their love story.

He was born May 13, 1952, to Robert L. Cassel Sr. and Patricia (Learch) Cassel.

Denny loved life, and he truly was the kindest man you could ever meet. To know him was to love him. He never had an ill word to say about anyone.

He was a true family man; his whole being was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He made every effort to be at every family function, game, play, or dance recital. He was his family’s biggest supporter and was so proud of his family. He had amazing friends as well that he considered his extended family. Denny loved hugs and kisses and always made everyone feel welcome.

Denny loved to play golf. He would say he was good, but those who played with him would say differently.

He loved art and had a gift for drawing. He loved family vacations to the beach and just spending time with friends and family. His favorite TV show was ID, so much that the icon was literally burned onto his TV screen. He also had two dogs that he loved, Macy, who he was reunited with, and Zula.

Denny was a truck driver for Strohman’s Baker before taking over his dad’s painting business, Cassel’s Painting, which he ran for over thirty-five years. Once he retired from painting, he worked for PrimeTime Sports making frames.

He is survived by his children: John Cassel and his wife, Michele, Crystal Kramer and her husband, Frank, and Deni Cassel and her boyfriend, Justin Coble; his grandchildren: Colton, Ryann, Jordan, Aydee, Morgan, and Brenden, and his great-grandchildren: Waylon and Nova. In addition, his sister Barbara Tinkey and sister-in-law, Marge Horning, many nieces, and nephews, his extended family: Jerry and Melisse Barrick, and his dear friend Marietta Steckline.
