David Richard Shaw

David Richard Shaw, 69, of Carlisle passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Forest Park Nursing Home.

He was born February 5, 1949 in Harrisburg to the late Victor and Mary-Jane Shaw.

David served in the US Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Boy Scouts of America. He retired from Boeing as an Airframe Mechanic. After retirement, he enjoyed working in hospitality at the Carlisle event shows. David was always known as a sharp dresser. He was an avid hiker often hiking the Appalachian Trail. He enjoyed nature and camping on his hiking trips. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by sons, Anthony Glenn Shaw of Gibbs, Missouri and Richard David Shaw of Carlisle; step-sister, Deborah Slaybaugh; grandchildren, Sarah, Erika, Shiana, Anthony, Helen, and Andrea Shaw; and great-grandchildren, Lori and Jordan Manning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Shaw.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Per the family's request, to help defray funeral expenses, memorial contributions may be made to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory in David’s name.
