Dallas W. Gelbaugh Jr., 86, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born November 18, 1936, in Perry County to the late Dallas W. Sr. and Gladys M. (Adams) Gelbaugh.
Dallas was a 1955 graduate of Carlisle High School. He honorably served his country in the US Navy. Dallas was employed by AMP Inc. for 38 years before retiring as an Electroplate Engineer. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on the family farm. Dallas loved the outdoors and his favorite past times were hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. Along with his wife, Dallas was a member of Middlesex United Methodist Church for nearly 60 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary J. Gelbaugh of Carlisle; four children, Stan M. (wife Denise) Gelbaugh of Ocean City, MD, Dan A. (wife Ami) Gelbaugh of Lemoyne, Julie E. (husband Marshall) West of Durham, NC, and Dallas W. “Chip” Gelbaugh III of Hanover; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet (husband Earl) Keller of Carlisle; one brother, Glenn (wife Wanda) Gelbaugh of Camp Hill; and one sister-in-law, Jean Gelbaugh of Turbotville. In addition to his parents, Dallas was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Gelbaugh.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 North Middlesex Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Pastor Deb Dailey and Rev. Dr. Dennis Keller co-officiating. Burial will be private and held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dallas to Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 North Middlesex Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
