Dale F. Jones

Dale F. Jones, age 84, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at his residence.
He was born on August 6, 1931 in Carlisle to the late Dale F. Jones, Sr. and Pearl A. Negley Jones. He had also been the widower of the late Joyce A. Trostle Jones who passed in 1982.
Dale was a graduate of Carlisle High School, Class of 1949. He was the owner of the former Dale Jones, Jr. Insurance Agency of Boiling Springs. Dale had previously been employed as a purchasing agent for Hill Electronics in Mechanicsburg and for Erie Frequency in Carlisle. He had also been a South Middleton Township supervisor for 12 years. He was a member of the Gobin Guards and the Elks Lodge #578 of Carlisle. Dale and Sally loved to travel together to Alabama to visit family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sally J. Franciscus Jones, of Carlisle, whom he married in 1988; a daughter, Debra A. (and husband John K.) Bixler of Carlisle; three step-sons, Joey W. (and wife Tammy) Lins of Bay Minette, AL, Jason W. Lins of Carlisle and Justin L. Lins of AL; a sister, Helen (and husband Jim) Carpenter of Bloserville; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Jones; a sister, Esther Hoover; and son-in-law, Gerry F. Simons, who passed in 1973.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Wesleyan Church of the Cross, 430 B Street, Carlisle with Rev. Daniel R. Mikesell officiating. Burial will be in Letort Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
