December 19, 1947 — March 3, 2018

Cynthia (Cindy) L Peterson, 70, of Carlisle passed away peacefully on March 3 in her home.
She was born December 19, 1947 in Carlisle to the late Robert H. Bruce Sr., and Carol L (Cann) Bruce. Cindy is survived by her son Wesley Peterson of Newville, daughter Nicole Creamer of Mechanicsburg, grandson Carson Rush of Mechanicsburg, brother Robert Bruce Jr. and wife Deb of Mt. Holly Springs, nephews Jon Grimley of Hebron IN, Matthew Bruce of Sacramento CA, and niece Megan Bruce of Seattle WA, and extended family along with her sweet and constant canine companion Rosey.

Cindy was a 1966 Graduate of Carlisle High School and a 1985 Graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College. She went on to become a computer programmer working at both the New Cumberland Army Depot and Mechanicsburg Navy Depot. She was a Daughter of The Rutherford B. Hayes Society, fulfilling her duties therein with great joy.

In life Cindy was generous, kind, and a loving mother and grandmother. She treasured time spent with her grandson. She was fiercely independent, an avid gardener and spent a great deal of time in fair weather outdoors working in her garden. She loved the beach, the Rolling Stones, being a rebel, and her beloved Boxer, Rosey.

Memorial contributions can be made by going out and buying yourself something nice, because that’s what she would want you to do.
